Buyer's Guide on Golf Hybrids

A hybrid is something that is between a fairway wood and an iron. Comparatively, they are newer kids and the trend was started by Taylor Made with their Rescue clubs some 10 years ago. But now, most of the manufacturers are making them.

Usage & Purpose

Normally the traditional long irons are difficult to get airborne. It also hit consistently well and hence most golfers struggle with it. The struggle is higher with 1 and 2 irons, which is now used by the best players. The best golf hybrids and clubs replace these longer irons and make life easier.

Time of Usage

Quite often, for most of the male golfers, it is 170 years to go to the green. Golf hybrids are very much versatile and it can be used off the fairway, from the rough or off the tee. There are some players who use the best golf hybrids for making use of the green also.

Check the Loft

Before buying the best golf hybrids, one should keep a close watch on the lofts. Normally, the lofts will be between 18 and 27 degrees. A few of the hybrid sets of iron offer higher lofted models also. The size and construction of the heads and the length of the shafts mean that the hybrid travels closer to the long iron than a fairway wood.

Shaft Is Important

Shaft and shaft length is also important. In order to add weight and distance, the majority of golf hybrids come with a graphite shaft. Another important aspect of golf hybrids is its shaft length. Normally, the hybrids will be around 2 to 3 inches shorter than a fairway wood. The reason behind this is that the shorter the club, the more control on shots.

Adjusting Factor

Most of the golf hybrids offer adjustability. A few of them concentrate on adjusting the loft. This is meant for suiting the best with distance and flight. There are also a few models that allow adjustments to the face angle, which in turn offers open, closed or neutral look. A few hybrids need the space for adjustable weights, some other have interchangeable weights also.

Which Will Suit You The Best?

You will never understand what actually suits you. Hence, it is better that you check a few and understand which the best is for you. One should try the golf hybrids that fit the bill. If it doesn’t work for you, get another one and work on it.
